Well you knew this day was coming. There was simply too much going against this team for them to go any further. With all the injuries they faced it’s hard to believe that they didn’t have AARP as one of their sponsors sewn into their jerseys.
Let me be clear, I grew up hating the Celtics and when Larry Bird and crew knocked out my favorite player in the universe, Dominique Wilkins I vowed to hate them forever. C’mon I was a kid, I didn’t know any better. As I got older I respected greatness and forgave Larry for what he did to me as a child. … Almost. I kid, but when the original big 3 got together this team was kind of likeable in my book and I was happy mainly for guys like KG when he got his ring.
ANYTHING IS POSSIBBBBLLLLLLLEEEEEEE!!! … Gotta love that!
Well it’s a new year and it’s time for the Celtics to wheel their wheel chairs over to pier 3 next to the Lakers. But nobody talk to that Andrew Bynum kid he’s in a timeout.
OUCH!!
I have to admit I thought the Celtics would beat the Heat but as the injuries piled up, it was just too much to overcome. After D.Wade greco roman’d Rajon Rondo they could have just stopped the series at that moment and said, “aiight folks we’re just gonna call this series now before we waste anymore of your time.” I’m not taking anything away from the Heat. We actually just did a piece on Lebron showing him much love. This team brought in some guy that looked like Shaq but I couldn’t make out if it was actually him because he never got on the court. Rondo was out there looking like the one armed man in “The Fugitive” and although it was a gutsy performance,
each time he was out there it was 4 on 5.
Oh and beyond Shaq’s injuries, Jermaine’s back, Rondo’s elbow and Paul Peirce, (Well we actually don’t know what he hurt but he’s always limping so we’re gonna add him to the list.) we must state one very obvious thing…
THIS TEAM IS OLD AS HELL!
This team didn’t have the legs to run with this Heat team and the x-factor, Kevin Garnett could never put back to back games together and he was their advantage in the paint.
Who Hurt You? … Danny Ainge
At the trade deadline the Celtics acquired Green and Kristic and we are seeing how that has worked out for them. … It hasn’t. … Perkins never put up big numbers but he did the dirty work like grab rebounds, play D and mean mug guys so that KG’s load wouldn’t be so heavy and he could give you 20 and 10 a night. The two new guys never really jelled in the system and Jeff Green was out there looking like a rookie, especially in that final game. Quiet as it’s kept, the Celtics could have used Nate Robinson and his energy this series as well, but I digress.
Where Do We Go From Here?
I believe tonight was Doc’s last game at least that’s what all the rumors are saying. I think Doc got every drop of juice from this Celtics team and he has always been one of the NBA’s best as well as one of the class acts in the league. I don’t know what you do with the big three, but I do know this, … they ain’t getting any younger. Green and Kristic obviously hasn’t worked so Ainge is going to have it’s work cut out for him.
Well we’d like to thank youfor playing but this is the ground floor and you can go ahead and wheel your wheelchairs out to the pier and begin fishing. See ya next season.
Be Easy
